We usually stay in the Apple Valley area on the trip up. Just wanted to know if there are any Casinos in the area that I can lose my $20 at that you would recommend?

If you are starting out at Apple Valley, Mystic Lake is the closest, about 6-7 miles away. Treasure Island is about 35 miles away. Both very nice.

Instead of donating your money to the casino, you can send me a check for that amount. I will go and buy some food and donate it to the local food shelf.

Someone has to help pay the dealer's rent! Nothing wrong with throwin some chips!

I've always wanted to go to the one closest to Ely. Yet to make it happen. Too busy thinking about monster walleye.

I thought i'd get this type of reply. My wife and I have given way more than we probably should to the local charity(s).

I will be on vacation and please don't try to make me feel bad.

I could go on more but won't.

Mystic Lake or Treasure Island would be best from Apple Valley.

I love when people try to tell others how to spend their well earned money. I don't gamble myself, but enjoy yourself if that's what ya like.

Not much difference between donating your entertainment dollars to a casino verses the local movie theater. Have you seen what they charge for popcorn! LOL
Use it for whatever kind of fun you choose.

Spend $20 at a casino or spend $20 at your local mexican chain restaurant. Either way both are a gamble.

If you prefer cards or ponies, I'd go to Canterbury Park instead of Mystic Lake! I believe they run a shuttle between the two.

I'm a gambler. I buy pretty crankbaits, betting that a fish will like what I like. The House of Rapala nearly always wins.

To get to Mystic Lake, go west on Co. Rd. 42 from Cedar Ave in Apple Valley(Hwy. 77), go through about 7 stoplights, go over 35W, go through another 12 or so stoplights, look for the lights in the shape of a tee-pee in the sky on the right side. There is also signage. Its kinda out in the boonies, but just stay on 42 and you will be all right.

Missmolly,
Your sickness is so yesterday! I’ve moved on. I now gamble on Megabass Dark Sleepers. Fish absolutely crush them but at $6 a pop it hurts when they swim off with my jig. Try them you’ll be hooked!

I don't do casinos. Can drive right by one and never give it a thought; because I won't be going inside. Not gonna happen.............

Only gambling I ever enjoyed was playing nickel, dime, quarter poker with a group of friends and buddies. Really miss our monthly game; haven't done that in about 15 years.

Other people can do as they choose; I could care less.

Sorry for that insufferable response. Ugh.

Mystic Lake is really a pretty nice casino. If you play blackjack, there are almost always some low-stakes options open. Also, regardless of the stakes, I've never really gotten the "you're screwing up MY cards" vibe from other players. That's always driven me nuts over the years.

The food is pretty good as well. You can get alcohol there now, provided that's okay with big brother1958.

Good luck and stay away from the ATMs!

Another ghost thread revived by a bot with an attached questionable link. I doubt the OP needs directions anymore since his post was from 3+ years ago.
