Has anyone targeted Walleye while fly fishing in the BWCA? I'm curious what setup (line, rod, fly) people use. I was thinking a 5 wt might be a good rod as there are not a fighting fish and often have soft strikes.
Thanks!

8-wt (same as smallies), Rio Outbound sink tip line (T6-8, fast sinking) and a Clouser swimming leech. Alternatively a black deceiver. 0X fluorocarbon tippet.

Gotta agree with jerold on the 8wt as rod of choice. You are also gonna get bass and pike fishing for walleyes. And as I mentioned in the other thread, you have to deal with wind. If you already own a 5 and dont want to buy a new rod, then take the 5....
