I was at my 50th class reunion in NW Kansas over the week end. Beer choices at our banquet were Bud Lite, Coors Lite, Miller Lite and Bud. I asked if there was anything with more flavor but that was it. It was a cheap beer night. $4 a can. Same choices I had as a kid only less lite back then.

I enjoyed a Ranger last night. What a difference.

Beer choices like that? I would have been into the bourbon instead.

Friday we had a gathering at a local Mexican restaurant. They did have an Amber Bock but our waiter was overwhelmed by to number of people and didn't totally understand English. Apparently he didn't know what an Amber Bock was. I would have ordered a Mexican beer but they insist on putting a piece of fruit in the beer. I prefer malted beverages without fruit.

Holiday station I. torte Memorial Day weekend. No micros, no locals, everything nearby closed. Think the closest to micro was Molson. I settled for some Coors. :(

Two years ago, I attended two 50 yr reunions (parents moved a lot and I attended 3 high schools). One was done strictly outdoors. The beer provided (Coors and Bud Lite) was included in the cost of attending and the weather was hot. To be truthful, I was happy to guzzle the ice-cold, watery stuff. That experience with adjunct lagers was an exception. Normally, I can't abide the stuff.
The second reunion was held indoors and the beer provided, at a price, was also Coors and Bud Lite. In this case, I was able to walk to the bar in an adjacent room and buy something more full-bodied.
My wife's school reunion was also supplied with weak, watery stuff. If I am able to attend another reunion, I'll try to plan ahead, maybe even taking my own brews.

Most decent Mexican restaurants will have Negra Mondelo which is decent.
