Entering through Liz in a couple of days. 2 50-ish couples, varying experience from 25 trips to newbie. We (I) like to fish and we like to look for moose and see stuff. Whaddya think? Also, any falls or pictos or curiosities around that area?

Both very good fishing lakes. More choice of campsites on Caribou. The 2 island sites on Meeds are good, the far west one is less desirable. The moose viewing is on Horseshoe. Small waterfall and cliff hike all the way down to Winchell.

We enjoyed both lakes last year. Found better fishing on Meeds. Horseshoe cool lake struck out on seeing a moose but great area. Caribou has better camping choices than meeds but also more traffic.

I like Meeds for the fishing. I like Horseshoe for seeing moose. Never stayed on Caribou but seems like it would have more people on it.

If you like to throw wacky worms at the shoreline or watch slip bobbers while sipping a cocktail I highly recommend Meeds.

Nice camps and relatively low traffic. Not much for special attractions but we had a fun hike eating more raspberries than we thought possible by the old dead standing trees on the northwest shore of the lake.

Also heard dueling wolf packs howling on multiple nights.

Good advice from the others.

I suspect you searched my previous posts and profiled me. Clearly you want me to go to Meeds. But why? Something is afoot.
Seriously, though, you had me at cocktails and slip bobbers.

Ha, sort of guilty. I could tell from your fishing forum posts that you share my affinity for wacky worms and cocktails plus slip bobbers is pretty universally awesome.

I have only passed through Caribou so I can't compare the two but we really lit the fish up on Meeds in mid July.

I promise nothing fishy going on, I can see that you have given plenty of hot tips to others and I'm just trying to repay the favor. Good luck!

Feel free to email me for some honey holes.
