I have just ordered both Mackenzie and Fisher maps covering the area I want to paddle from Beaverhouse and would also like to take the Crismar map(s) too. I have the Adventure series for Quetico bought at 'Copia last year. It is 1\125k scale. Is this the only scale or do they have more detailed scales? Which series is best for campsite accuracy?

Chrismar is the best for portages, I usually just mark my other maps from the Chrismar.
Campsites are tricky I don't think any of the maps are accurate. I use a website that lists them---make sure you only count on the campsites that are confirmed. Others may exist but you can't count on it.

On the Chrismar maps they only come in the one size. It's OK for general directions and planning but I like the Fisher maps myself. I carry the Fisher maps and a set of the MacKenzies for backup.

Realize on the Chrismar maps that the portages are in meters NOT rods whereas the other two brands of maps are in rods. I also use other websites for finding the campsites and marking them on my maps.

To fine campsites in Quetico you hardly need a map, especially in September. I carry all thee - Chrismar, McKenzie, and Fisher. I tend to have McKenzie in my case, might have a few sites marked from recommendations.

Thanks to both T. & O.F, --- what websites have maps of the campsites? I have to admit this is my only paddling site, don't surf anywhere else--thanks to the great group that hangs here.
