Just finished a 10 day backpacking trip through the Trinity Alps Wilderness of Northern California. Five days out of 10 I was the only one on the lake, caught 16" Brook Trout at one lake, and expirenced a wilderness outside of Minnesota that felt it bordered just on the edge of complete wildness. If you are looking for solitude, backpacking, and no grizzley bears in the Lower 48, I suggest the Trinity Alps Wilderness.
