From member bwcadan:

I have a SR Quetico 16. We fill it full with what we consider basics for the low portage trip to our base camp. Once empty, it is used for day trips on our lake or for extended trips to view attractions in other areas. The best usage for these trips were the longer trips from North Bay of Basswood Lake in the Q. Three trips: To louisa Falls, Down Basswood River as far as Table Rock and the pictographs on the way. Several falls and rapids too. McNiece Lake to see old growth pines. From alder, to Johnson Falls. Look at maps and read trip reports to research many other possible scenic day trips.

Some years, we purchase fishing permits and fish some. Catch/release.
