Heading north Wednesday on a loooong drive with some local buds (one is Mark my Canoecopia sound man) for a put-in on Sept 3 coming out Sept 12 for a total of 9 nights/10 days. We're catching the train in Armstrong and unloading at the Allenwater Bridge first paddling north and then east taking out in the crown lands of Little Caribou Lake for a pick up on a logging road there.
I was going to paddle my newly refinished solo, but had a paddler back out and so now I'm going tandem in my SR 17 with another paddler. Boat, barrel and pack all weigh in at about 45 lbs each. I think I remembered everything including my SPOT on which I'll send a special anniversary message to my wife on Sept 12 that morning. (Yes, she let me go tripping on our anniversary!)
Been a long time since I've paddled 10 days in. Looking forward to it.

We all have to believe in something. I believe I'll go paddle.

Sounds fun... I did my first 10 day trip in May and loved it! It seems with a 6-7 day trip you just get into the wilderness routine then it is time to go home. Wabakimi sounds great, I've never been there, but it's on 'the list' :-)

quote hobbydog: "Enjoy. I will be in WCPP during that same time. Hoping for some good fall like weather. "
Love Woodland Caribou. Have a great one! So far, weather looking pretty good for both.

Enjoy Wabakimi. I've only come in from the west side via Smye but Allanwater is on my list. It's a lovely, remote park that is lightly travelled if you can get away from the fly-in lodges. Fishing can be off the charts and I hope you have good weather while you are up there!

quote Big Tent: "Are you sure you will be going? "Doooon't Paddle toooday!!" Have a good trip."
LOL! Well, that could change my schedule a bit, but I'll eventually get there!

Just got home from a week in the crown lands east of the park. Saw no one while travelling from D'Alton Lake thru Michell to Caribou. Just a few bush planes flying to/from the Armstrong area. Alot less fly-in fisherman at this time of year as compared to earlier in the summer. But I suppose that also explains our almost complete lack of success at fishing other than a few small pike and pickerel.

Safe travels and have a great trip!
I was up in that neck of the woods for a couple of weeks in late July/early Aug. with the project. We were on Crown Lands N/E of Armstrong......Ruxton, Moonshine and D'Alton Lake area.
Saw one party of four in two canoes. The two fishing camps we saw were vacant. Fishing was OK. Most walleyes were caught in ten to fifteen ft. of water near points.

Ironically, I was just reading about the place in an old C&K magazine the other night, how strange? Have a safe trip, Jerry, looking forward to a trip report!
