I just posted my first video trip report of my fall solo. It's about 25 minutes long.

Here's a link if you're interested.

Thanks, nice report. That was some really nice looking country - makes me want to go in Stuart River sometime.

Enjoyed the video! Since you said it was your first video report, I hope you don't mind if I have a suggestion. I kept having to turn up the volume when you spoke, then turn it down for the music. I will probably watch it a few more times though, as you took the same route I did in 2015, my first BWCA experience, and I went solo as well.

Hey, John - I've got a question for you. I believe this was your first solo . . . ? If true what did you like most and least about that part of it?

So it wasn't my first solo. I've done a lot of one nighters, particularly in the winter when I can seem to find anyone who wants to come along. LOL

My first solo was a two night trip when I was 18 to the Upland Island Wilderness Area in NE Texas. I contracted Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever from a deer tick on that trip and lost all the hearing in my left ear as a result! That trip was the most 'alone' I've ever felt, but that's another story...

What I like the most/least about going solo? I like that I can do things at my own pace and on a whim decide to do a loop without having to debate or go fishing or just relax, etc. What I miss the most is sharing the moments of sheer beauty or adversity with the company of those that I desire to be with (family & friends).

Generally I don't go solo because I want to, but because no one else can/will come.

It's all candid one takes, LOL! No script, but watching Shug and Beav's videos gave me an idea of what I wanted to do an made me think about what kind of shots I wanted to try to capture. I mostly did it to give my brothers and dad an opportunity to see what it's like as I'm going to be taking them out for a week long trip this summer. I enjoyed it though and think I might try it again in the future.

Thanks! Yes, I struggled with the volume editing part of the program having never used it before (iMovie). I'll have do dive more into it that aspect the next time around.
