Permit secured for entering on Lake One heading to Insula.
If there are any campers that would like to join our group (2 so far), you're welcome aboard. Planning on staying on Insula and our primary goal is fishing. Never been to this lake in the 35+ years of annual BWCA journeys. Hoping that there'll be one or more that would like to accompany us to add insight to good fishing and sharing campfire stories. Leaving out of the Chicago area and entering the wilderness on the 6th of June.
Any takers may reply here or if you'd rather reply off site, message me at: menenmon@wowway.com
Good luck to all travelers to the BWCAW this season!

Sounds like a fun trip-especially given your screen name! The Dead cost me 9 years of college, but I would not trade it for anything!!!

BTW, it's a great lake, head to the far northern end where a cliff face is home to a really splendid camp site. There's also a couple of good island campsites just south of that one. Good fishing lake. Enjoy!

A couple of questions:

1. Are you still looking for people?

2. Just to be clear, is your permit for the 6th and you are staying in for 9 days? Or are you leaving Chicago on the 6th?

3. I may be interested in tagging along, but leaving after 7 days if you are staying in for the full nine days. I have a solo canoe and all my own stuff. I may not be able to commit until the end of April. Would that work?

4. I am in Evanston. Where are you located?

Hey Chicagored,
Yes, we're still hoping to get others to join us this year.
We pick up our permit AND enter on the 6th of June. Depending on the fishing, and the weather. we'll likely stay until the 14th or 15th, but nothing is set in stone.
No worries on when or if you commit to join us. Since you live in Evanston, maybe we could meet for a coffee or something to go over our itinerary.
I live in Mt. Prospect.

Well, if you join me for some of the Hunters Island trip, we may have a lot to talk about! Just listened to Alpine 8/7/82 earlier tonight. Still love the music, the memories and the friends.
