My Fisher map F-13 shows a 95 rod portage from Allen to Pillsbery lk. but on the entry point map for ep 47 it doesn't exist. I'm planning a route from ep47 west to Omega and back thru Winchell (from the west never again from the east) and north and out. If that portage is defunct I will consider Meeds and south.
The trip will be in mid May.

Thanks, Merlyn

I was on that portage last year. it is fairly easy and follows the stream through the woods.

I am planning a very similar route and was wondering the same thing about that portage! Went from Meeds to Otto last July.

Portage is there. Can be a little sloppy. Tricky portage in that area is the Pillsbury to Swallow. It starts in the tip of a little bay about 100 yards east of where its marked on maps ...on the Pillsbury end.

Did this route a few years back. Lovely.

Don't step off to the side in the shallow water on the Allen side. I sunk in the muck to mid-thigh before I knew what happened.
