Does McKenzie Map #3 cover this whole region?

Unfortunately, no. The two western-most camps on Winchell are not included, nor is the western half of Omega. You'll also need McKenzie #4.

Howie, the Voyageur Map #9 covers it all on one map. We were just in that area last June.

McKenzie 4A covers the entire thing and would get you all the way to cross bay and out ham to the round lake road.

You can also use just the ‘National Geographic Boundary Waters East’ map and you’ll be fine. I used to carry McKenzie, Fisher, and Nat Geo but now just use Nat Geo. It has it all and is great for looking at while in camp.

x2 for the Voyageur. Tons of fishing info and history on the back of each one too for that specific area

Fisher F-13 works. I've only used Fisher and like them.

+1. I had never seen this one in stores but Carl at Rockwood had one on our last trip there so we picked one up on our way out.

+1. As I say, McKenzie looks better on your table but Fisher looks better on your trip.

Fisher is consistently more accurate than McKenzie. I stand by my earlier post that says just use the Nat Geo East map and you’re all set. The only exception being using McKenzie for river trips. An example being the Granite River. McKenzie has a beautiful map for that. Fisher F-13 is great too and what you should use for Round, Poplar, Lizz/Swamp, Caribou, Horseshoe, Vista, etc.

Listen to the Tumblehome podcast “Maps” episodes. They’re really good.
