OK.......this might not be the right place on the board to post this, but here goes........
On this past trip, I ripped a strap off one of my propacks. I didn't do anything too serious with it, and was not too concerned as this pack is nearly 15 years old.
I wrote a nice letter to Cascade Designs, explaining that I've had the pack for nearly 15 years, had patched it about a billion times, and only wanted to get a quote on fixing the strap.
Well......fast forward 3 weeks....I get a package in the mail and a nice letter from Cascade Designs.
Basically the strap ripping off the pack, especially where it ripped off my pack was a design flaw as they put it, and they replaced my pack with a brand new pack.
Not only that, but it was one of their new RS packs with the GOOD back pad, better padded shoulder straps, sternum strap, etc, etc.
While lots of people SLAM the SeaLine packs here, I believe this is a pretty DANG good warranty.
This is the second time I've had a warranty issue with one of their products.......the other time, they also replaced the item in question too.
I had to share.

Geo

i havent seen the "slamming" youre referring to. i dont think thats the case at all, its just a matter of personal preference as to which pack a person is comfortable using in a wilderness situation.

Similar experience here with a MSR Sweetwater water filter. I bought it back when it was Sweetwater. MSR bought the Sweetwater company, Cascade Designs bought MSR, SealLine and Thermarest, and still honor the original Sweetwater warranty from 15-20 years ago.
Service like that earns my trust and my business. I'm more than happy to do business with any Cascade Designs company because they do it right.

I use a sealine pack to hang my food. 6 trips later and I still love it. I also love to hear about their good customer service. Thanks and I will continue to support them.

I've never read anything about Sealine Propacks being slammed. We use them all the time. They are great packs and pretty much waterproof. Nothing has ever gotten wet in them. Customer service next to none as far as I'm concerned. I have one, a friend has one and another couple has one. We don't baby them either.
