Sounds like it was a laid back trip. As you experienced the wind frequently comes up late morning and makes mid-day travel difficult. Thanks for posting it. Makes me want to go back.

Thanks for the report. I enjoyed the slideshow of the pictures too. It sounds like you guys enjoyed a very relaxed trip except for angering the wind gods ;). Maybe I'll get up there someday.

Great report. What you said is very true regarding the campsites being much smaller and less trampled than the BWCAW and often difficult to find. I know that feeling of fighting the wind. It sounds like you had a nice trip overall. Thanks for sharing

Loved that picture of the glassy water. Man. That's what it's is all about right there.

Yes. We were really astounded at how calm it was. That is the type of day that keeps us coming back again and again. Then we had a spectacular sunset and star show later on. It was just about as perfect a day of canoeing as one could ask for.

We really did take it slow. It was a very different way to paddle for me. I am so used to being up and out of camp with the sun and travelling most every day. I needed Andy to sort of put the brakes on. Several days I was up early and kind of nervously fidgeting around and Andy calmed me down and sort of said "Where's the fire? Relax and enjoy this place."

And if I'd have been there, my speed undoubtedly would've been halfway between yours and Andy's ;).
