Camp Notes:
This is a nearly perfect campsite for fair weather. In windy, wet weather, the kitchen, on the extended point (with limited ability to have a tarp over the fire grate) could be challenging. That's the only down side I could find with this one, and since the weather cooperated during our stay, it wasn't an issue. The fire grate is elevated, so I could feed the fire and cook standing up. It also has wonderful flat rocks next to the fire grate that really help with cooking. It has one sitting log parallel the fire grate so the kitchen area has convenient in/out routing for feeding the fire and cooking in shifting winds. The main landing area is as good as it gets, with a grassy inlet area tucked against gently sloping rock. Good wind protection at the landing and easy to slide the canoe up and flip it for overnight. The tent sites are spread out. One large one near the water is elevated, with a great view of the lake and yet has good trees around it for shade and shelter. Good trees for hanging food too. As mentioned by others, there is a nice live well. Be aware though that a large snapping turtle knows it is there and checks it daily. He was disappointed that we weren't better fishermen and didn't need to use it :) We also saw an otter morning and evening. He too might know about the live well. It was hot during our stay. The south facing rock face has a gradual slope that was perfect for easing into the cool water for a swim. The site is obviously preferred, as fire wood nearby is limited. We intended to stay here only 1 night, but liked the set-up so much that we stayed 3 nights and did day trips instead. Gull lake was pretty quiet during our stay. We saw a couple groups passing through and maybe one stayed one night at another campsite (not sure), but it felt like we had the lake to ourselves.

Several good tent spots, two along the south side of the site about 20 meters apart. Some great spots for hammocking, a slight peninsula so the wind kept bugs away! Amazing sunsets from this spot!

Nice camp sight on a peninsula. Live well for keeping fish, on the rock point. Lots of waterfront space. We did not camp here, but had a shore lunch and looked around.

Top notch site. Lots of room and plenty of pads. lots of shoreline to fish from camp. Great fire area. the point had a natural live well that held a 16" walleye for about 6 hours until we had caught a few friends for him to join us for supper. Heavy wind while we were there and had no problem getting to a sheltered area.

An outstanding site, one of the finest in the BWCA. Plenty of room for tents, great fishing nearby, and a nice fire area. Top notch!

Gorgeous campsite with at least 3, if not more, good tent pads. Protected cook area. On a peninsula with small bay on one side. We did not stay here, but we went thru it on a day trip. Nice peninsula for landing and swimming. Quiet lake.
