Breezy site that catches the wind from three directions for less bugs. Small sandy beach. Nice fire pit. Good bear hang trees. Nice views.

Camp Notes:
Easy paddle for new groups. Easy to hang the food pack, hammocks, rain tarp, etc. Didn’t catch any fish. Swimming was good. Site seems to be heavily used. Not a lot of shade but a great breeze nice view for the sunset. No bugs while we were there.

Camp Notes:
This is a very nice campsite set over a nice set of exposed granite with points to the South, West, and North. The main camp area has had several trees down over the years and is mostly open (this can be good or bad depending on weather). We benefited from a nice breeze to keep the bugs away on our June stay. It has a very nice landing for easy loading/unloading. It has 1 large tent pad with a couple other smaller ones. The only reason I give it 4 stars over 5 is the lack of shade protection in the main camp.

We didn't camp here because the kids want to swim and there isn't very many good swimming areas here. The river is shallow so no shore fishing. Site is very open and exposed.. probably few bugs.

Very nice site to take beginners to, only about a half hour or less paddle from the portage to the south. Nice island to look at.
