I’m torn on this one. One one hand, loved the island aspect, the large trees, fire area, low grass, great canoe landing. On the other hand, it was very picked over for firewood. Had to make special canoe retrieval’s for wood across the lake. Plus, the clif is a bit precarious and very abrupt. The sunrise views are great, but you have to head to the other side of the island. The sunset shots are pretty weak. A long walk to the canoes. There are wallet on the east side of the island. And was shared residency with a beaver on the north side. Overall, very nice, but know the limitations.

Stayed here for 4 days. We have a large tent to accomodate our large family so it was difficult to find a tent pad that would fit the tent but any standard sized tent would have 3-4 placement options. There are multiple 'hangout' spots on the island so when the bugs/wind/sun isnt favorable in one spot, you just head over to another spot. The island looks like it's been pretty heavily used- lots of walking paths but very picked over for campfire wood. West side of the island has the campfire area set on a rock ledge- great views and LOTS of sun for most of the day. Four or five large trees have recently been cut down or have blown down on this side making for very hot afternoons. And the cliff can be a little worrisome if you have kids at the site. There are also a lot of ankle-breaker rocks on this side. The east side of the island is much cooler, had a consistent breeze to keep the bugs away and much easier walking. We moved our tent to this side after the first night expecting high winds and worrying about a dead tree that looked ready to fall on the west side. There's a nice gradual slide into the lake that's nice for pulling in canoes. There's a nice 'sitting rock' as well. In the southern point there's a great 'beach rock' for swimming. We spent most of an afternoon in the water one of the days. Fishing isnt great from shore. But trolled the southern point and caught walleye. (Not the walleyes in the picture) Lots of squirrels, turtles and ducks. Watched a mama deer and fawn playing on shore across the water one morning. So cute.

This is a great site. It looks south and west and the grate sits up on a rock about 15 feet up from the water. There are two or three good tent sites, and plenty of places to hang tarps and hammocks. It looks like there used to be a site on the east side of the island and there are great places to sit and enjoy the scenery on all sides of the island. Had a great time last October at this site watching all the helicopters and planes in the area for the Pagami Fire after it had calmed down.

Lovely, small island. On both east and west sides there are nice cliffs and rocks to sit on. We'd sit on the east side in the morning and the west at night to gain the sun and decrease the bugs. Good fishing around island. Caught walleye. Better landing for canoe on east side, a bit longer walk to the grill area, but really not very long at all.
