Camp Notes:
Nice campsite. We had 6 2-person tents and found spots for all of them, with a few more unused tent pads around as well. I wouldn't say it's a sprawling site, but there is a good amount of room in the main part of camp. The views are getting quite obstructed by tree growth around basically the entire perimeter of the peninsula...I prefer things a little more open with better views of the lake. The firegrate and furniture around it are unimpressive. The John is a long way back a trail, but that didn't bother me. We didn't try much shore fishing so I can't say it's futile, but it sure seemed futile because of the gradual shorelines around here and limited shore access from the site. Overall, I definitely recommend.

We stopped here just to check out the campsite. It looks like a very nice site with lots of tent pad options. As said in previous reviews it is a VERY long and buggy walk to the latrine. I'm assuming this is because it is on a peninsula and they had to go a long way back to not be seen from the water. We were actually unable to get to the latrine because there was a storm the week before we came up and several trees were down blocking the trail, once the forest service gets in to clean it up it won't be a problem.

Sprawling elevated peninsula site with good views for sunrise & sunsets. Wouldn't go so far as to say it has a beach but, there are sandy shores. I would give it 5 stars save for 3 things. 1. Lots of traffic passing nearby. 2. Loooong trail to the latrine. 3. Tarp options near the fire grate will require a long ridge line (sagging issues).

We found this campsite perfect for our family of 5. Good canoe landing in the western bay which leads up to the firegrate. Site has 180 degree views of water, with moderate tree/brush coverage on the north side. You get the sunrise AND the sunset! Tall jack-pine flank the main camp. Site could fit 4+, 2-4 person tents with a couple of the sites being more favorable than the others. Two 'beaches' flank the site. One is the western side canoe landing, gravely, with gentle slope into rockier waters. Other is on southeastern side of camp and is all sand and very shallow far out into the lake. We enjoyed nice breezes due to the open treeline on the western and eastern parts of the site. Only thing keeping it from a 5 star in my opinion is the long walk to the latrine. Like previous review said, it's a pretty walk. We counted 260 average steps to get there.

One more view of site from the water, facing south. Canoe landing is on the right side of photo.

I actually liked this spot, unlike the previous reviewer. Yes, the walk to the john is pretty long, but it is a very pleasant walk. :) The site over all is fairly open, which allows for some breeze to come through. Very nice views of the lake from the point. I can't give it five stars due to the limited number of good tent pads.

On the small point. A large campsite but with only 1 good tent spot. Always windy. Bad mosquitoes at night because of the nearby swamp. John is very long way away. Easy sand landing for canoes - but very shallow makes it hard to get fresh water from shore.
