This is a great campsite on one of the prettiest lakes I’ve stayed on in the boundary waters. The campsite has a great view of the lake and some nice spots for tents. Must be well used tho there was virtually no firewood.

I was fortunate enough to grab this campsite on my first trip to the BWCA, a solo trip in 2018. Great parking area for canoes or kayaks, awesome view and the fishing was great on Vista during my stay. I can't speak to the tent pads, as I stayed in my hammock, but they looked decent. Walk to the latrine was easy. If you're lucky enough to get this site, it'll be worth staying at least a few nights. First night there, I woke up about 4am and heard a wolf howl. So very cool.

This was one of the better campsites I have stayed on in the BWCA. The views were ideal, and the site offered good tent pads and cover. Although we didn't catch a bunch of fish, we did have near perfect weather, the bugs were nowhere to be found, and we had the lake to ourselves for the entire trip. The only negatives that we could think of with this site would be that the fire wood was scarce, and the fishing from camp could have been a little better. Other than that, this trip was near perfect.

Stayed here for 3 nights. It is the best site on Vista Lake however I wasn't as impressed as others have been. I found the canoe landing average at best. The more secluded tent pad was really muddy (though it would be nice if it were dry). So we stayed on the other tent pad that is more in the open. This was ok but it will barely fit a 4 person tent and is not comfortable at all due to the roots and rocks. I would stop somewhere on Vista along the way and grab some wood as the site is pretty much picked over. Other than that it has a nice view and fishing is decent from shore. It is a nice rock to just lay on also.

Site sits about 12' above the lake. 2 canoe landings on either side with the better on the right as you approach the site. Both have a rather short but steep ascent to the main camp area. Plenty of shade with a mix of pine and poplar. Best tent site sits about 10 yards in a low spot behind the firepit with other slightly closer and more exposed. Path to the loo is quite rugged and about 10 rods. Fishing can be done and quite deep right off the site (8-10") Imagine this would be a good early season spot. Could be buggy with a south wind in the warmer months. On my Top 10 list for sites in the BW.

Beautiful site. Very Large, good canoe parking around the side. Only one other site on the lake. The Big Rocks out front are awesome for laying down, and napping.

My 2nd favorite campsite in all of the bwcwa!!! Too bad i had a terrible campmate!!!!! Awesome site with a great sloping rock down to the lake, what a view at sunset. Spent a night ALONE on giant boulder in the water to the east of the site. Best solo night ever

First and only site I've camped at in the BWCA. After finding this site we decided to base camp from it. Beautiful views from the fire, great rock in front to fish from, two "garages" for your canoes.

Great site high on the rocks with great views. Select this site and you'll know why they call it Vista Lake. The photo is from the large island to the east looking towards the campsite.

A nice canoe landing but a hike up a slope to a nice tent pad and a great firegrate area. Great lake view, nice sunning rock. A keeper.

I confess I only looked at this site from the water so I can't tell you how many people it will accomodate. But the fact that it is across from an incredibly beautiful island on an incredibly beautiful lake has me thinking that it will be my next campsite in the BWCAW.
