Didn't love it as much as the others seemed to. Tent pads were back in the woods quite a ways and the trail back to them was hard to follow at night. It's a longer narrow peninsula and site felt cramped to me.

Wonderful site north of the large cliff. The site is on a thin peninsula with great fishing, swimming and views right from camp. Plenty of pads.

In case it isn't obvious from the other comments, this stunning campsite is a must-visit. The expansive bedrock front porch makes for excellent sunset viewing, cooking, lounging, fishing, canoe landing, and more. It's easy access to the Winchell cliffs trail directly to the South.

One of my top 10 favorite sites in the whole BWCA. Huge protruding rock landing facing west. Large open area near fire grate and good siting. sitting area faces West so you can view some beautiful campsites. There to the North there is a small private bay which drops off quickly right from shore. Excellent for swimming and fishing. There is also hiking trail to the north that wraps around the bay onto a small ledge. If you venture all the way around you will find some rock carins people have left. Plenty of places for tent pads and an amazing bear tree further back on the site. Had two bears come into camp while we were there. There was also a moose skull on the edge of camp last time I was there.

Best site on Winchell. A long, bedrock peninsula provides ample docking, swimming, relaxation, cooking, etc. Decent tent space, and a great western sunset view. One of the best around.

Possibly the best campsite that I have ever stayed on. It has a great landing for the canoe. The fire grate area is quite large and flat. About 25 yards east of the fire grate there are several tent pads. This sight could accommodate a very large group. Great view for sunsets.

As noted below, this is an outstanding site. Plenty of tent pads, long but scenic walk to the latrine, and lots of lounging area on the rock point.

Best site on the lake, IMHO. Excellent protected bay with Northern in it, great tent pads and fire grate area. Wonderful stone point offers some amazing views. You won't be dissapointed. Nice hiking trails up and behind the site if you take the time to explore.

Phenomenal site! Nice landing with a back bay if it's too windy. Some great tent pads back away from the firegrate along the rather long trail to the latrine. Nice sloping solid rock point great for hanging out & incredible vistas. A west orientated firegrate provides spectacular views of the sunset.

Top 5 site in my 9 years of going to the BWCA. Beautiful view of the lake. Wind from the west help keep bugs to a minimum. Rock point great for cooking, swimming, & hanging out. Tent pads we decent.

Stayed at this campsite in 1988, just barely escaping a storm. The rock outcropping offers a great place to sun and dive/swim. Large northern caught on the north shore, a hundred yards or less to the west. Great view of lake from campsite.

Execellent site with plenty of space for a group of 9 people. There is a big rock out crop with a little sitting area to enjoy the sun set. There is also a little beach area as well to go swimming.
