Camp Notes:
Peninsula site with a super easy landing. We got two 2-mans into the main pad. Any other spots would be lesser. Fire grate was good with plenty of rocks for wind protection. Good spots for hammocks, including a south-facing one a bit away from main area. Good space for a tarp, and you'll want the tarp because there's an evergreen right in the middle of everything that for us was dripping sap - which attracted lots of bees! Great overlooks near the main and good exploring trails too. Peninsula keeps the bugs down. We found the peninsula to be a little wood-poor, we got through but woe to the next groups.

1 excellent tent pad and 1 that can work but is not level. If you only have 1 tent it's a 5-star site, if you have 2 tents it's a 3-star site, if you have more than 2, I don't know where you'd put them. Very nice fire grate area behind a large boulder. A large flat rock for landing and relaxing form the front of the site. Nice views all around the point.

somewhat easy landing up to a fairily exposed fire/camping area. the fire grate is somehow broken in half, so it made cooking our two lake trout difficult. one good tent pad for the 4 person Kelty our friends were using and a so-so pad for the Big Agnes 3 that we used. large network of trails all over the peninsula to better than average latrine and 4 beatiful overlooks to the lake great camp in sunny weather but we woke the next morning to a good amount of chilling wind. definetly recomended as a summer campsite

Definitely the best site on Cherokee. Beautiful peninsula site with great views from all around. Hard to fit more that 2 tents in the pads, but its doable. This one is really hard to get, but take it if you can!

Four-star campsite with a five-star view! Campsite is best for two people and one tent. Level tent pad and plenty of trees for hanging tarps, hammock, etc. Fairly easy canoe landing and space to store canoe. Nice firegrate area. Site is on a peninsula so had a nice cross breeze.

Only one good tent pad. It fit our 5-man dome tent. We put up a second tent, but had to rig ropes across the campsite at ground level to provide tie-outs. (Couldn't use stakes as there wasn't enough soil anywhere except on the main tent pad.) Breezes from 3 sides really kept the mosquitos down. Fire grate and log seating around it were good. Nice views. Canoe landings weren't the best - sloping rock that was a little steep - but with a little care that was o.k.

Great location - good cross ventilation to keep bugs down. There is a developed tent pad here that is really for a four-person tent. Our six-person fit, but it was tight. Not a lot of other good options for tent placement . . . maybe be able to fit a two/three-person tent on another spot. There are some fun trails to follow around the small peninsula. We saw lots of blueberry shrubs and wished it was later in the season when they would be ripe! Good swimming.
