| Portage Notes: | Challenging boulder laced landings, especially on the downstream (Caribou) end. Trail itself is flat and straightforward. Interesting side note: There are remains of an old bridge that crosses the brook just off the portage trail at about the mid-point. And the corresponding trail (not sure what this trail was) can still be seen as well. |

| Portage Notes: | This portage is difficult to notice from the Meeds side, even when you are upon it it's hard to tell it's a portage. The location on the maps isn't entirely accurate. The portage itself is short, with a deep rocky entrance on the Meeds side and a river on the southern / eastern edge. The river in August is shallow and you have to push through tall grasses, but usually enough traffic has been through you can follow the bent grasses, no real channel at first but then it opens up. Great wildlife viewing, great photo opportunities. |
