Essentials

Good gear to keep close by in my Marmot Pack. Ultrathon Aerosol Bug Spray, SPF 45 suncreen, Thermacell, TP, Binoculars, toothbrush and paste, etc.

Marmot Lumpar Pack

I always carry a lumpar pack for easy access to the esentials. Padeling gloves, Radio, Tackle, Bilge Sponge, Sunscreen, Insect repelent.

St. Croix Triumph Travel Rod

Finally I have found a compact solution that doesn't compromise quality.

Fishing Gear unpacked

Frabill Colapsible net, St. Croix Trimuph travel rod with Bass Pro Shops Mega Tournament reel and Hi-vis yellow braided line.

Fishing Gear

Crank baits, jigs, spoons, lindy rigs, leeches, and plastic worms.

Green Stuff Sack

MSR Miniworks Filter Katadyn Pocket Microfilter. Coleman Lantern. Princeton Haedlamp. Camp tools.

Purple Stuff Sack

MSR Dromlite 4 Liter. MSR Dromadary 10 Liter. Primus Stove with Power Gas. Sterin Pen w/ 32 oz Nalgene.

MSR Mess Kit

I choose MSR's Duralite Gourmet Cookset supplemented with an REI 10" fry pan, and a Texsport purcalator kettle.

Moduled Gear Bags

Loose, unorganized gear can make the trip less enjoyable. I use Granite Gear Airline stuff sacks, and compression sacks to avoid problems. Then I load them all into my portage pack like a game of real-life Tetris.

ArcTeryx Rain Gear

Using Goretex Paclite, this highly breathable, 100% waterproof solution sits right on top of the pack for easy access. The jacket weighs 11 oz and the pant weigh 9 oz.

Easy Access Gear

I find it important to have the anchor, seat cushion, rope, and tarp near the top of my pack.

Granite Gear Superior One

This massive pack weighs in around 45lbs. At 7400 CU" the pack is still only about 2/3rds full.

Loaded to go

Out side my pack I lashed my Colapsible Fishing net, my St. Croix travel rod, and my map case.
