Battery Solutions

This was awesome!

I like Trail Mix

First few days it rained!

Lupins

I love seeing the Lupines every year also!

Tuscarora Logo

We stayed in a different bunk house when we returned.

Tuscarora Lodge and Canoe Outiftters

This was a welcome site! 2 weeks in the BWCA, our goal every year when we go out.

Round Lake

We were across the lake from Tuscarora Lodge and Canoe Outfitters. It was a welcome site. We had to bail out of the canoe onto an island due to high winds and severe lightning. We heard trees being blown over.

Brutal Wind

We lucked out though and didn't have to paddle directly into the wind. Felt sorry for those going into the wind.

Whipped Lake

We were whipped when we arrived and found this buggy camp site available!

Dinner

Fortunately my wife is great at catching fish. We didn't go hungry at Bologna Lake.

Bear Bag Pulley

Taking the pulley worked better than I thought. Was much easier to get the rope over the limb we needed!

Sunrise on Frost Lake

I am thankful we made it to this lake. We had 2 days of food and a 4 day paddle out this year.

Battery Charger

I have 3 Kodak Play Sports I mount on the canoe, and around camp. This year I left my pro gear at home and relied on a Nikon P510. A much lighter camera with a 35mm equivalent of 1000mm.

Campfire Cooking

We were making bread, it was delicious. We were here on Frost Lake for 4 Nights.

Moose Butt

I have heard of buck fever, it was like I was watching, forgetting I had my camera in my hand.

Frost Lake Day 5

Frost Lake has been on our destination radar every year we have come to the BWCA. We made it in our 4th year I believe. One year we launched from the Ely area.

Long Island Lake

Day 3 was stormy and rainy. A missed turn, paddling into the wind much of the afternoon, we camped here.

Day 2 Cut Short

Not so much lightening, but no reason to take any chances.

Beautiful Portage

Day 2 was beautiful

Loon Show to start day 2

Every year I look forward to watching the Loons.

Sunset day one

Ham Lake, after the storm passed. Sunset!

Camping early on Ham

Thunderstorms made for a short first day. This was a nice site!
