The morning greets us with an absolutely stunning sunrise.

After pancakes for breakfast, we head out to fish, fish, and fish! We catch several pike around these islands and weedy area in McKenzie Bay.

We exit McKenzie Bay and head north on Kawnipi towards Rose Island. Many more walleyes and pike are caught. The method of choice is trolling with wiggle warts and jointed shad raps. Once we locate the fish we switched to jigging with orange and brown twisters tails or chartreuse twister tails. The scenery and beauty of Kawnipi around Rose Island is absolutely stunning.

Eventually we head back to camp catching even more fish along the way. Almost every "fishy spot" holds fish. Points, submerged reefs, etc. The walleyes are found in 10-15 feet of water. We ate like kings tonight. Walleye fillets with cajun breading, Cache Lake bread, green beans, and Knorr's Thai Sesame Noodles.

The eagles and turkey vultures were very interested in the fish guts. The pecking order was interesting to watch. First, came the seagulls, then, the turkey vultures chased them away, and finally, the eagle came and chased them all away.
