Adam was the first one up this morning. He woke up at 5:30 and took the canoe out fishing. I got up at 6:00 and made coffee. A family of four otters wandered around the canoe landing. When Adam returned, and Brian woke up, we had oatmeal for breakfast. After breakfast, we paddled to the portage to Clark Lake. There is a nice sand beach where the portage comes out onto Clark Lake. We left the canoe on Crooked Lake. We spent a couple of hours around the beach. There were signs of an old building foundation on the shore overlooking Clark Lake. I read that this area was once a private fishing camp. When we got back to Crooked Lake, we fished for some crappies. We caught 15. They made a great supper!
