The last day we awoken to no wind. We are on the water by 7:50 AM. Head down to Canadian Point trolling again mostly catching larger Northerns suspended over deep water. This pattern worked on Bayely Bay, the Merriams, and the Main lake as well. Out tow wasn't until 2 pm so we started fishing more. We hit soem reefs and found the smallys ravenous. Jigging a white 4" Gulp Pearl minnow I was catching a smally on every cast if I was in 15-17' of water.

All of them were 16-18", when you broughht one up 3-5 would follow. In the clear water it was really neat to see those fish below you.

We stopped for lunch on an Island in between little Merriam and Bayley Bay. Trolled soem water just off the island in about 22' and caught a few 18-22" walleyes. Once it got deeper all we caught were northerns---even caught some out in the middle of Bayley in 85' of water.

We make it back to Prairie Portage by 1:30. Tow pciks us up exactly at 2 pm. We splurge and stay at Ely Grand Lodge, enjoy some drinks on their padio and have dinner at the Rockwood. Nice relaxing way to end our trip.

One new item on the trip that worked well was our EXPED pad chairs. It is a sleeve that covers your pad and converts your pad inot a chair or lounge chair. I picked 2 up at REI on clearnce several years ago for $14 for both. Never used them until this year---now I know waht I was missing.

Another item was "black Box" merlot wine. Nevr had box wine before--maybe it wa sthe location but very satisfying.
