Trip Introduction:
An old friend and a new friend wanted to do a relaxing fishing trip, so I did some research and heard that Perent Lake was a promising walleye lake. Got the Hog Creek permit, and set sail.
Report
Well the trip was surely relaxing. And we caught about, o five fish total. One of them was a walleye. However, for every fish we did not catch, we did hit a rock. That lake sure is something. It is almost as if a rock bomb exploded and sent boulder shrapnel every which way. Anyways, wanted to keep this short and sweet. We napped in our hammocks, baked some coffee cake in my (cowdoc's) backwoods oven, played cards, and actually studied for the GRE graduate entrance exam which we had to take upon return. Just being up there calms my mind and recharges my soul, even if I have to study.
There were about a dozen of these on the creek.
Our campsite landing.
Smoke from Pagnami Creek fire.
Finally got one, too bad it was a northern. Still made a tasty dinner treat with tacos!
Dessert in Cowdoc's oven. Yummy!
The morning paddle out of Perent. I love paddling through the "white horses" of a beautiful Boundary Waters morning!
