We woke up the next morning. We were rotating jobs, and I was cook for the morning. While the rest of the crew went for a swim and prepared to get under way, I made a pot of coffee and readied the granola and yogurt. Right before getting underway, a school of dolphins swam up beside the boat and played for a while, which was fun to watch.

As cook for the first half of the day, I had a pretty relaxing morning after breakfast as we unfurled the sails and caught a nice breeze out of the northeast. I was able to sit back and take a few pictures, and soak in as much of the sailing techniques and terminology as I could. We sailed by Duck Key, just north of the Turn Keys. We had planned on sailing to Spy Key, but the other ship was having trouble catching favorable winds and were forced to spend the night a little north at Eagle Key. We stayed on the ship all night save for a short swim. The islands and keys are primarily mangrove which makes it nearly impossible to make land.
