Friday, August 12, 2011 Kingfisher lake, Ogishkemuncie Lake Woke up rather early took down camp hit the water and portaged into Kingfisher We decided to fish the stream coming into kingfisher from Osh. We were not disappointed, we beached an fished for a while. A couple groups went through and we could here a banging noise coming from upstream. A half hour later a man and his son appeared dragging his canoe over fallen trees me and Jack had a chuckle at the man when he stayed "Id rather float it then carry the damn thing". We kept a few fish for dinner and made our way over the portage meeting a group that warned of bees at top the hill we did not stay around and look for them. We made our way across Osh and found our base camp island. Set up camp on a great site got the firewood from across the way and started boiling water (worst part of the trip). Now I have a filter thanks to my wife. Relaxed and explored the island with my pole in hand. Caught a few Smallies on the north side then went out in the canoe. Fish were not responding the best so we decided to swim it was hot. The site had the best rock to jump from Jack wouldn't jump 1st so I went for it, It was 20ft deep straight off the ledge according to the trusty Hummingbird. After 1st jump soaped up and jumped in for the rinse cycle, it was perfect even a nice rock ledge to get our of the water.
