its a warm morning and looks like its going to be a very warm and sunny day. i hate traveling in weather like this, i dont do well in the heat.

shade to unnamed, unnamed to grey, grey to yum yum, yum yum to kahs. two tough portages today...unnamed to grey and, of course, THE yum yum to kahs. the later lived up to all the hype ive read about it. its one very challenging portage.

its windy on kahs and about 1/3 of the way up we encounter some very squirrely waves coming from multiple angles. we are drained from portaging in this heat and decide to get off the main lake and take a tiny campsite in a bay on the east side. it turns out to be wood tick central!!!! unfortunately dan didnt find the time to permethrin his clothing, he was battling ticks the entire time we were there.
