We set out to conquer the "KEK"!
Report
We set out to conquer the "KEK" on Thursday May 24th. We hit the trail at 3:15pm in HARD DRIVING rain. We made it to the Horward lake campsite before dark only to find the campsite completely flowing with water! We made the best of it because we had no choice. The next morning it was cloudy but dry, we continued on and made it to Harness Lake and set up camp. The trail is VERY WET and overgrown badly! On Saturday we continued on and made it to Moiyaka Lake campsite, this campsite was amazing!!! Someone had groomed the trail around Moiyaka Lake but not very far. Sunday morning it was raining again and we headed out. We made it to the west trail by early afternoon. The trail is in BAD shape and ALL the water crossings were flooded out!!! There was standing water everywhere, our feet and pants were wet all 4 days! This was the most physical and emotionally demanding thing I have ever done!!!
