Day one Entered entry point 16 about 900am on the 26thg of June warm and humid at the 3rd portage had to put on rain gear and hold up under the canoe for an hour and half during heavy down pours and lighting,
Paddle in rain until part way across Nina moose sun and came out and we were able to shed rain gear and have lunch on the sand bar at the out let.
About 100 yards down from the lake saw a one horned bull moose in the middle of the rive it exited the east bank. On the next portage saw a pine martin .
Made it into lake Agnes about 3pm most camp sites were full stayed on the last one north west corner. Decent site biggest draw back was no good place to land canoe other wise a good sight. Had rib eyes and potatoes for dinner bugs fair. Went fishing around 7 and caught a few walleyes. bed about 930.
Day two went out the north west portage and fished and looked around. Caught a few small mouths and came back into Agnes by the 115 rod north east portage. Heavy winds when we hit the lake again but only had a short paddle. Some light rain, the winds died down around 8 went fishing some more and caught some more walleyes. Some rain fell during the night nothing major.
Day Three explored around Agnes fishing caught some walleyes light rain on and off. Clearing about 2pm Easy day. Had some late arrivals camp across the bay from up fairly nosey bunch but they went to bed early.
Day 4 went across the North east portage down the river into boulder bay and north east across portage and came out by forest service cabins. Very high winds on the big lake came back into boulder bay a lot less winds. Caught some walleyes and my padding partner caught one 10lb northern pike. Paddled around boulder bay catching fish and sight seeing checking out the camp sites there for future trips.
On the way back I tossed out a bronzed colored chad rap and hooked something big had a good fight never could get it up to the surface to see what it was after 5 minutes or so it threw the hook. Took out lots of line bent the rod good fight but couldn't tell you what kind it was.
Went back to camp had walleyes for dinner relaxed went out and did some evening fishing catching and releasing. neighbors very nosy going on until about ten when I just yell hey once and they stopped the started up again I yell hey once more and they quieted down. All went to bed.
Day 5 up about 6 just a beautiful day broke camp on the lake heading out by 815 very few people up and about didn't see any body until we hit Nina moose the saw parties coming in meet several up to the exit portage. A 5 hour drive home.
Over all a very good trip.
