Headed over to Omeme lake on the advice of Old Hoosier. The portages weren't too bad, but it took us a while to get there....a few beaver dams, one portage over a very rocky ledge, and two "real" portages, and we were on Omeme. Three minutes into trolling we had our first pike, and after that it was more of the same--paddle until we found fish, then cast until we didn't catch any more. The best part of this lake for us was the size of the walleyes--while we did catch a lot of 14-18', we also caught the largest of the trip, some mid 20' fish that hit both spoons and rapalas.

Midway through the day, it was time for a swim.

Ended up catching lots of fish....and having a good nap with a decent evening paddle that happened to include a walleye or three.
