Report
started trip in the town of savant lake, ended at the kopka at the road crossing. hitchhiked back to armstrong then train back to savant lake. besided the railroad crossing we saw no signs of humans the entire trip, except for small trapper cabins which at that time were in use (also an abandoned gold mine and town on savant lake). all portages were easy and obvious.

i just found my notes from the trip the other day, also several other trips which i will try to map. we figured we covered about 420 miles, often paddling more than twenty miles a day, some days from sunup till sundown. my notes are sketchy, i'm getting together with one of the guys from the trip. we will try to see what we can come up with.

the best section was the rivers heading north to the albany river, this was a delight. the petawawa was beyond rugged. easily the hardest canoeing i have ever experienced.

here's a map. besides the road to pickle crow none of the other roads were here. really wild.
