Friday, August 23, 2019 Woke up the lake was glass so decided to head back towards Washington Island so we would be closer to the pickup point. That way we would have less worry about the wind. The water was perfect until we got U.S. Point, then hit chop again. But the good news is that Big Dave figured out how to ride the waves and we had a good time paddling the chop. Found the perfect camp site nice landing site, nice tent sites, look like good shore fishing. Then our bubble was burst because not to far away was a moose pond and then the skeeters found us, time to look some more. Decided on campsite 1629, it was all tangled up from the blowdown in June so spent a couple of hours making room for tents. Finally got our campsite livable and our tents pitched. By this time we were hot, sweaty, and dirty. So decided to strip to our underwear and take a swim. Just got down to our skivvies and were trying to get the courage to jump in when a canoe comes around the corner with 2 women in it. Big Dave yells out we're going swimming, you want to join us. Apparently they weren't interested in joining us. Later on we went fishing and Big Dave and I caught a couple of bass I wanted to go around the corner but it was really windy so decided to head back to the site. Captn Carp & Mr. Leach went on around the corner and found the mother load. We had fish for supper. After supper Captn Carp & I went back there and caught a bunch more. Tried for eyes but just caught one.
