Day 3 of 9
Wednesday, June 28, 2017 Day 4 Wednesday Emerald Woke up about 8. It was sunny and warm. We had fried eggs, toast, little smokies. Did camp chores, rearranged packs, redid bear ropes, and it started to rain. We packed stuff up and put up the tarp. Watched rain and made cup-o soup and PB&J sandwiches. Watched rain and chipmunks in the firepit. Rigged fishing poles, watched rain. Finally gave up and took a nap in the tent. We went back out and made Spaghetti and meatsauce with the dried beef and mushrooms we made, and had salad. Dried mushrooms were great. It took a while to get cleaned up and get the bear bags up. Still raining. We got a small fire going in between squalls for clean up and TP bag (brown paper lunch bag) burning. Daniel’s flappy invention comes through. It’s a flyswatter with a baggie stapled on it. It really gets a fire going. Got to bed about 11. Still raining.
