Day 9 of 9
Tuesday, July 04, 2017 Day 10 Tuesday Pick up day Sheridan to Carp, Birch.

We get up about 6 and pack up to go. We get on the water about 8:30 and paddle to the Sheridan portage to Carp. It’s rocky, but dry and has good footing. There’s a nice waterfall along the portage. We stopped to take pictures and loaded up for the 8 mile paddle down Carp and Birch for a 1:00 pickup at Birch Portage. We see the 1st people we’ve seen in 7 days coming into Carp. I carry the canoe for the 2nd time of the trip. It feels like a super highway. We paddle down Birch and stop at a BWCA campsite near the portage and have PB&J sandwiches about noon, then head to the portage for a pickup. A man in a kayak says he saw some bull moose in an inlet on Birch. I’m a little jealous since we didn’t see much wildlife along the way. Maybe next time. I’m more interested in the getting into town and getting a pizza at Sir G’s and getting some clean laundry.
