Monday, July 24, 2017 On our final morning, it was instant oatmeal for breakfast before getting packed up for the paddle out to meet our pick-up at the same place we were dropped off--entry point 14. On our way out, we decided to take the southern portage between the Pauness lakes. Though this one does have a quick rise in elevation, it is pretty short, much drier than the other portage and the one of the two that I prefer. Other than the quick tumble I took on that portage (didn't hurt), our trip out to the pick-up point was pleasant and uneventful. We pulled in about a half-hour before our scheduled time but there already was Andy from CCO waiting for us. He didn't hesitate to grab one of our canoes and a pack and hump them up to the parking lot making that final carry easier for all four of the rest of us. Again, great service from Canoe Country Outfitters!

After the ride back to town and the always refreshing post-trip shower, we packed up and headed over to The Ely Steakhouse for some tasty Bucky Burgers concluding what was, in spite of the first-day bumps, another rewarding adventure.

After Kirby and I parted with Brian and Aidan, we still had one more chore before hitting the road home. We made several stops around town trying to put into gear the resources for finding my camera stuff. If you want other details, check out the lost and found thread on this forum and see if it's still listed. I'm not real optimistic, but who knows. Some day I may just see it again and thanks to anyone who may help me get to that point.
