First trip to the BWCA and we had it all! My 17 year old son and me. Went looking for fish and adventure. Not many fish but still an adventure. Pouring rain for 4 days, but that just added to the special time together. Can't wait to go this year.

For a first time trip we saw it all! My 17 year old son and me. I have hunted in the mountains in a blizzard, so the 4 days of pouring rain that we experienced on a 5 day trip while not a welcome addition, didn't dampen our fun- as my son said it just gave us a different kind of adventure! We made a basecamp at 1131 where the river narrows with a rapids. About a 2 hour paddle from our entry point. It was a great location to launch day trips and a beautiful campsite!

The only dissapointment was not very good fishing, but there was a fly hatch going on and it was the middle of July, and we had never fished the BWCA before (My mistake was thinking it would be like a northern Canadian fishing trip). We did get a nice Walleye at the portage into Clear Lake.

Since we were on our first trip, the fact that we counted 23 canoes go past our camp the first day didn't bother us--but our trip this year will be to a more remote area.

It was simply beautiful and was as much as an adventure as we imagined....even with the pouring rain.

We created memories that money cannot buy!

We can't wait to explore the BWCA again
