Trip Introduction:
I'm not getting any younger, and my son has never been on a trip longer than 5 days, so we decided to have an epic adventure this summer and do a long point to point jaunt. Thanks to all who offered suggestions on routes....S Kawishiwi to Sawbill fit the bill!
Day 1 of 14
Monday, August 10, 2020 Got burritos at Front Porch in Ely and headed to the S Kawishiwi entry point. A little rocky and muddy, but not bad, a nice start to the trip. Paddled until after the 2nd portage on the river, then took the campsite just before the 30 rod portage. Lovely site, with bonus wood and a cool stone bench, also a cave up the shore a little ways. Drank some cold press that we carried in and thought about meteors...the Perseids should be in full swing tonight.First night and it already feels like we've been out here forever.

Nice meteors after dark, then off to bed.
