6/22/80 Day Four:

Time for arising was 5 AM, and we were packed up and ready to leave by 7:10. The Canada Jays were already "cleaning up" as we left.

The water on Lac La Croix was calm; we made good time. Saw a mink along the shore, and also had two loons come really close to us.

Stopped at the LLC Ranger Station about noon.

Took a look at more pictographs on LLC, and of course Warrior Hill.

We camped across from Warrior Hill about 1:30. It was so very hot and dry. [I sense a theme here.] Rinsed out t-shirts and hung them up dripping at 4:30--they were completely dry at 6:00! We are showing signs of dehydration. I was very dizzy and sleepy for a while, and it is obvious that we need to DRINK MORE!

The sun was still hot at 8:25, so it was another night of sleeping on top of the bags.

Lots of little piney squirrels cleaned up for us after supper. [I can only speculate that we must have dropped some crumbs, but have no idea what we ate.]

[And at the bottom of this day's journal page it says again, DRINK MORE! It also says "red rock lunch". I don't know if that means we ate our lunch on a red rock, or if it refers to some sort of packaged food. I am going to believe we enjoyed lunch on a red rock.]
