Trip Introduction:
Backstory My father and brother like to try lakes that they believe have not been visited in a very long time. Years ago we tried Sunhigh lake out for a day and caught some Northerns and noticed that Sunlow lake wasn’t too far away and appeared to be a decent size. They both wondered if this lake might hold some fish as well and if so why did the forest service never put a portage in. There is no portage or access according to the map so I said I would look into this specific lake for my father. Came to this site as I usually do and searched for any results about Sunlow lake. I could only find a couple mentions of it but it was pretty clear no one had really even attempted it. So the plan was to do it. I picked October because I cannot stand bugs or hot weather…plus its free and less crowded. So I gathered two of my brothers and my father and set a date.
Day 1 of 5
Sunday, October 9, 2022

The day before. Very little planning has been done up to this point. Most of my gear is always ready and I almost always take the same stuff on every trip. I sent my dad a list of items to get ready and I figured he might need some help with the canoes since he is now 74 about to be 75. So I go up to my dad’s house and make sure he has everything that he was supposed to pack including food, tarp, canoes, life jackets, and paddles. After that is all done we then load the canoes. I head back home to pack my stuff and we all await day 1.

Included a shot of my pup that I am eager to take next year. Also a little hesitant but only one way to really find out. She already does great in a canoe though.
