The weather was much improved, and after some breakfast and breaking camp, we were loading up and ready to continue our journey.
The plan for the day was to get to the end of Quetico Lake, portage to Oriana, paddle across and then portage to Jesse Lake and camp on Jesse. According to our Chrismar Adventure map, there were two short portages to Oriana and then one longer one to get to Jesse. To my surprise there were actually two portages between Oriana and Jesse. We considered the extra portage to be a bonus portage. After checking some other maps I found that the others did indeed show two portages between Oriana and Jesse. This surprised me since whenever I had discovered discrepancies between maps in the past the Chrismar map was the one that was correct.

The Creek between Quetico and Oriana Lakes

Jesse is a beautiful lake. It is long and thin with lots of little islands.
We camped on one of those islands in a little chain of islands near the east end of the lake.
