Two of my daughters and I spent a week at Wood Lake. We enjoyed lots of fishing, good food, a few hikes, and plenty of fun in camp.
Day 1 of 7
Sunday, May 24, 2020

This was to be the first trip for two of my daughters ages 8 and 16 at the time. We enjoyed preparing for the trip together...choosing an entry point, planning the menus, and selecting the gear that would best suit our needs. We left early Sunday morning to make the nearly 420-mile drive to Ely, MN to spend the night in a bunkhouse. I enjoyed the time in the truck together - singing, games, and talking about the upcoming trip. Both daughters have camped, backpacked, fished, and canoed before but this was their first trip to the BWCA so I was super excited!
