by puckettgame6

Trip Type: Paddling Canoe
Entry Date: 06/11/2025
Entry & Exit Point: Quetico
Number of Days: 6
Group Size: 2
Trip Introduction:
https://youtu.be/IgRHn6ZCfs4?si=Nwm5hCozwXy9luSi - The link is my video trip report of my June 2024 trip and my first in the Quetico! We went to Lake Saganagons and spent our time fishing and exploring this massive lake. Even with the 5 full days we had in there, we were barely able to scratched the surface of this beautiful stretch of the wilderness. The silver falls portage was busy both ways, but within the park itself it was rare to see another canoe. Many of the canoes take the portage north to the falls chain and the Eastern side of the lake does not see many pass thru canoes. A pretty good selection of campsites follow the entire route. Weather was a huge factor with massive dangerous storms just south of us in the BWCA for multiple days. We were hoping to find some lakers but did not, although we didn't focus nearly enough on it for any chance of success. We didn't spend much time jigging, trolling with raps was the game. Average size was well over 20" and the bass fishing was excellent also. So much to see north of the border!
