Our fourth day was a no travel day, no real plans except to spend the day fishing and relaxing around our beautiful campsite. In the morning I took a canoe solo while Dad and Scott fished in the other. Wes decided to sleep in today. I had an amazing top water morning mostly using the Whopper Plopper again. At times I was catching a fish on almost every cast. The morning was calm, peaceful and amazingly quiet. I continued all the way to the main body of Kawnipi and noticed rain headed my way so headed back to camp through a peaceful drizzle. The other canoe had picked up 2 nice Walleye and put them on a stringer so we tied them off in the water and had a great breakfast of sausage gravy and bannock.

After breakfast, I grabbed a rod and bushwacked around our private island catching smallie after smallie. After about 2 hours, I figured id better head back to camp since I didnt tell anyone where I was going. Turns out, no one knew I was gone. It was early afternoon and we lazed around camp. At some point out of the corner of my eye I noticed movement. An eagle had spotted our Wallies swimming off shore and was preparing to pilfer our meal. We realized we should probably filet them and have an early dinner or we would have to change our dinner plans. We had walked well down the shoreline to prep dinner, but the eagle wasnt going to be denied. He waited patiently for the carcasses. I told Wes to grab his camera and I placed the fish remains about 30 feet away from us. The eagle swooped down from his perch multiple times before finally scooping it up and flying off with its meal. Wes caught it all on video, pretty amazing to watch.

After dinner we went back out fishing where we had luck earlier but caught next to nothing. Oh well, thats fishing for you. We ended our fishing session early, returned to camp and turned in for the night. Another relaxing day in the Q was in the books.
