Thursday, June 11, 2026 12:15-Departed site on Sagus, headed East (wanted to go West through Alice but a strong West wind scratched that plan). Got to Makwa by 3:45 but felt ambitious and continued on and settled at site 1050 just South of Kivaniva Lake by 6:21 Travel Time: 6 hrs, 6 min. Est miles paddled: 7.3 Portages: 13 @ est 949 rods Notes: Remote to say the least. Portages overgrown (expected), did not see another human during all of our travels, more moose and bear tracks on the portages than human tracks. Beautiful area and if you want to feel all alone, this is your route!
