01/14/2013 07:08PM Bring a small polarfleece blanket and put it over your head at night. |

01/14/2013 05:23PM Sew up a neck gaitor out of windproof polarfleece. leave it around your neck for mild temps pull it up over the nose for colder temps. fit it loose so it does not push down on your nose all night long. |

01/14/2013 01:53PM Thanks for the ideas. But I think I'll try something other than taping a cottonball to my nose. Maybe tape a tail from a stuffed animal like a rabbit! |

01/14/2013 07:13AM I wear a face mask that covers my nose. I use it a lot while out in the woods and I wear it to bed as well. Just make sure you have a spare. Some mask's material doesn't hold up and you might have to switch to the spare mask. |

01/13/2013 08:44PM In the 1970's I read about a guy that taped a cotton ball to the tip of his nose to keep it warmer. |

01/13/2013 08:08PM Buy an "earband". One of those thingies that covers your ears but not the top of your head. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. I wear a balaclava which covers my head, ears and neck, and I retire with the earband around my neck. If my nose gets cold, I slide it up to cover the nose, but I don't breathe "through" it. That will just ice up on you. Tha balaclava can be pulled up to warm up my chin, or pulled down to cover all of my forehead and eyes if really cold. The only thing that remains exposed is my mouth and nostrils. |

01/13/2013 07:48PM I live in Missouri and have a trip planned next month for a short backpacking trip. My biggest problem with camping is getting a really cold nose when it is sticking out of My mummy bag. Anybody have any ideas? Dan |
