As others have said, it's got plenty of small lakers to keep you occupied. Much easier to find/catch them than on Duncan, at least in my opinion.

dew042: "Pinetree: "I always did like the far North campsite for camping."

Walked through there on a BRT trip a few years back. That north campsite looked nice - high off the water, I recall a big downed tree to sit on and watch the world go by.

If I recall, pretty near by if you go east on the BRT there is a pretty neat overlook - its like you come out of a train tunnel to a wide open view."

Thank you and Pinetree!

Only small but taste Lakers."

Thanks, Dan! Those lakers looked just perfect eating size. We're actually headed in after the BW Expo at East Bearskin, so will see you there

trailcherry: "I was there a few years ago on a May trip with my son. We were camped on Duncan and did a day trip over and back. The portage was easy but it seemed to be seldom used. We caught a few Lakers while we exploring the lake, all were on the small side. Had a lunch stop at the farthest north site, again this looked to be seldom used even though it's connected to the hiking trail. We had planned to venture farther west and check out Dunn Lake but the weather changed and we headed back to Duncan. "

Thanks so much, I appreciate the info!

tree: "it gets hit pretty good during the winter, for sure. pretty little lake. hiked to it using the south lake hiking trail."
I noticed the trails on the north and east sides. If it gets hit in winter can I expect there's Lakers? How about that 230 rd portage from Duncan?

Anyone ever been there? Fished there? Hey Tuscaroraborealis, have you been there? I've been to the Duncan/Rose area plenty but never even seen that SW arm of Duncan. Thinking a mix of familiar and new territory may be nice on this trip?
